Restaurant Style Salsa

Restaurant Style Salsa

We are huge salsa lovers in my house and I am always making new types. This restaurant-style salsa is simple to make and uses ingredients found year-round which is handy. I recommend using canned whole tomatoes because they have a better flavor than the diced ones (to me!). I used half a jalapeno in this salsa and it’s plenty spicy but feel free to use more or less depending on your tastes. I’ve made a few batches of this restaurant-style salsa recently and we all really love it – especially my daughter.

How to Make Restaurant Style Salsa

Combine the whole tomatoes, Rotel tomatoes, onion, green onion, cilantro, jalapeno, minced garlic, lime juice, oregano, cumin, sea salt, and freshly cracked pepper, to taste, and a pinch of sugar in a food processor (or blender).

Pulse until you get the consistency you prefer, about 15 pulses. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.

Place into the refrigerator for 30-60 minutes prior to serving. Enjoy.

  1. LOVE homemade salsa! So easy to make, and better than anything you can buy. Your recipe looks delish — thanks!

  2. Jovina Coughlin says:

Love homemade salsa. I like the ingredients you used.

  3. Being able to just toss ingredients in the food processor and you’re done is the absolute best! I agree that whole canned tomatoes have better flavor than canned diced, and often have better flavor than fresh tomatoes. The little bit of heat processing enhances the flavor. I’m sure my boys would love this.

  4. Jeanette Barron says:

Looks delicious, but much more that I can use at one time.
How long does it keep in the refrigerator? Can it be frozen?

  5. Looks like a really good recipe – seems to contain all of the right stuff.

    Good looking recipe Pam
